Aasmaa Attacked

Bjorn Lindbaeck opened to 1,500 and got three calls – Raymon Thijssen behind, Raigo Aasmaa in the small blind and Phill Huxley in the big blind.

All four saw a :::6c :::9d :::Qs flop, and it checked all the way around to Thijssen who bet 2,600. Aasmaa called, small blind Huxley and original raiser Lindbaeck folded, and they went heads up to the turn.

Both players checked the :::8d turn and proceeded directly to the river – the :::2h. Aasmaa now asked Thijssen, “How much do you have?”

“Thirteen-five,” is what it sounded like Thijssen said, but the dealer told him it was more. “Oh wait,” said Thijssen, apparently seeing some chips at the back for the very first time. Whatever happened there, Thijssen’s stack constituted around 19,000 in chips. Aasmaa checked.

Thijssen bet 4,025 and Aasmaa just called – and then pulled a face and said, “Awww,” when Thijssen turned over :::9c :::9h for a rather unexpected set.

Aasmaa – down to 11,000
Thijssen – up to 30,000
