The four-day European Open tournament got off to a terrific start at The Wynn Fall Classic last night with poker vlogger extraordinaire Andrew Neeme winning the special $10k invitational Battle Royale freeroll.
The Vegas-based poker-pro beat Heatherstone streamer, Rumay “Hafu” Wang heads-up for the $4,500 first prize. Hafu took $3,000 for her runner-up finish, with Unibet eSports ambassador Craig “onscreen” Shannon taking $1,000 for third place and Tyler “Wildcat” Wine finishing in 4th for $500.
Andrew Neeme, started a hugely popular poker vlogging project over a year ago, said on Twitter that he had “successfully defended the honor of the poker world vs some tough eSporters. They were all awesome ppl.”

This was the sixth eSports Battle Royale and involved Andrew Neeme against eight celebrated gamers who have a combined Twitch fan base of more than 1.2 million followers. Hearthstone player Rumay “Hafu” Wang was the surprise package of the day with the relative newcomer using her Heatherstone skills to make calculated bluffs and adapt her ranges well. Unibet eSports Ambassador, Scott “Sco” McMillan, playing in his third Battle Royale of the year looked threatening to Hafu, but Neeme came through in the end with the help of a couple of flips.
The other gamers who competed were Justin “KOSDEF” Chandler and Hayli “HayliNic” Baez and Unibet eSports Ambassadors Alan “Hotted89” Widmann and Sophia “Djarri” White.
