Big Bluff Backfires for Backfjard

Up on the feature table, Johan Backfjard bet out 106k on the turn of a :::Kc :::Ad :::6d :::2s board into an already meaty pot. Mohammed “Ash” Suhail made the call.

The river was the :::5c – no good to anyone, unless they were maybe the sort of people to put 106k in on the turn with an inside straight draw. Backfjard checked this time, and Suhail spent a long time assortedly tanking up, pointing at things on the table (the board, the pot, other players) and saying things I couldn’t quite make out. Eventually he checked as well.

As the last aggressor, Backfjard had to turn his cards over first – a modest 5-7. I didn’t quite catch the suits but I am fairly certain that they were not both diamonds. I shall leave you at home to speculate on that for yourselves. Suhail’s :::As :::Kh was good enough to take the mammoth pot, and he’s at around 650k. Backfjard is annoyingly not stacking his chips in twenties, but he still looks to be in fine shape on around 800k.
