Roy Brindley’s first ever Unibet Open experience at the felt has not gone quite as he presumably planned – he has busted out, just a few minutes into the post-prandial poker session. He got it in with pocket nines but found himself up against Markus Hoikkala’s pocket jacks. There was no help for him on the K-6-K-8-T board, and Brindley was gone.

He looked pretty cheerful, though, so he must have had a good time. I suspect we’ll be hearing from him later in the commentary booth. Hoikkala meanwhile is at 33,000.
