Cibak to Square One

Around 7,500 had already found its way into the pot by the turn, the board reading :::3h :::4h :::6h :::9c. Tomas Cibak had gone all in for 6,350, and Michael Lukas was considering his options. He asked the dealer to tell him how much was in the pot, and then looked like he didn’t believe him when the dealer said he wasn’t allowed to count the pot and just spread it a bit instead. Before Lukas could kick up a fuss, though, Arkadiusz Olszowy called the clock; and then before the floorman could start the countdown, Lukas made the call.

Lukas: :::Kd :::6d for just a pair of sixes
Cibak: :::9s :::6c for two pair

River: a harmless :::4d

Thus Cibak doubled up to a shade over 20,000 – the first time he’s been above his starting stack all day. Lukas isn’t doing too badly after that either – he’s still at 35,000 or so.
