Well, that is, as they say, your lot.
Nine levels saw our field decimated from 117 down to what we reckon is 38 players – full chip counts will be with us soon for verification. We can, however tell you that our overnight chip leader is Jonas Mols, on 159,800 – it looks as though Dariusz Paszkiewicz lost a big pot right at the end of play to drop him into second place.
Among the luminaries who tried and failed today are last season’s Leaderboard winner Tim Verbon, Unibet Ambassador Dan Glimne and Unibet Open Riga champion Peter Harkes. On the other hand, the happy few who have made it through to Day 2 include UO Malta winner Mateusz Moolhuizen, Unibet Open perma-fixture Alex Rousso and Mr. Dariusz Paszkiewicz, who finished 16th here at Unibet Open Prague back in 2010.
Tomorrow we are expecting a rather larger field, and it’s going to be fun, fun , fun all the way in the Hilton Prague’s rather grand ballroom – except for the people who bust out, of course. Nevertheless it’s going to be great for everyone else. We’ll be back here at 2pm CET and the live stream will be up from 4pm. Join us then to see who makes Day 2, and who has to find something to do in Prague for a couple days instead.
