De Meulder Takes Chip Lead into the Final Table!

After almost twelve levels of play, the all-Belgian Final Table has been determined for the Unibet Poker Belgian Championship Main Event. Christophe De Meulder will be taking the chip lead into the final day tomorrow, Sunday, September 2, with 4,245,000 in chips.

De Meulder actually won the €220 Deepstack for €6,585 here in Blankenberge during the 2016 edition of this event and will be looking to improve on his only Unibet cash by winning the Main Event tomorrow.  Trailing De Meulder in second place is Samir Akhoullou with 4,025,000 in chips. Akhoullou has never cashed in a Unibet event and will want to make his first a memorable one immediately.

Closing the podium is Jonas Van Baelen with 3,455,000. The Belgian has actually got no recorded live tournament cashes in Belgium so he is on the right track to make his first Belgian flag a good one.

Peter Dupont (1,040,000) and Fabrice Halleux (760,000) are two players who qualified online via Unibet and were automatically entered into a free last longer. The winner of this last longer will walk away with a €2,000 Unibet Open package tomorrow.

The final table players have been asked to come back tomorrow at 12:45 PM local time for the final table photos and their walk on and introduction to the rail. Play will commence in Level 24 with 13 minutes left on the clock which features a small blind of 25,000, big blind of 50,000 and big blind ante of 50,000. Blind level durations are scheduled to increase to 60 minutes each and a break is planned between every two levels.
