Among the new players to take their seat during level 4 is the very familiar face of Christophe De Meulder, the 2018 Unibet Belgian Championship Main Event champion.
This time last year in Blankenberge, De Meulder navigated his way through a 438 player-field to take the €42,020 top-prize.
De Meulder is now back to reclaim his title, having last year spoke of the honor to win a title in his home nation.
“If you play in Belgium, you’re among Belgians, and it’s always very nice to see old friends and acquaintances. There’s always a good atmosphere, and it’s very friendly, but I’m very competitive, so I have to try hard not to be too nice!
“Unibet’s slogan is ‘By players, for players’ and it’s really true. Everything is so well organised, and it’s almost impossible not to have a good time, whether you do well or not. Last year (2017) I didn’t cash or anything, but still had a very nice experience.”
