The board has been hovering on 35 players for ages now, and although players are getting their chips in the middle, the short stacks seem to be getting the best of it every time at the moment.
Witness:
Ole Jensen got his last in with :::4d :::4s, well ahead of Priit Türner’s :::Kh :::4h, and stayed ahead all the way down the uneventful :::7d :::2d :::8s :::9c :::2s board. They’re at roughly 140,000 apiece after that, but moving in opposite directions.
A few minutes on and a couple tables across, Martins Sulte open-shoved for 74,000 from the button and got a call from Lauri Meidla in the small blind. Sulte’s :::As :::Qh was dominating against Meidla’s :::Kd :::Qs and held all the way to river of the :::7c :::2h :::8h :::9h :::2s board to double him up to around 200,000 – still well below average. Meidla is now very short but still in on 92,000.
