Downward Emotion for Marius

This morning as I was leaving the breakfast room, I was accosted by a very happy gentleman. He shook my hand, and explained that he was one of the qualifiers for this event: one Verzescu Mihail Marius. He told me in broken English that this was his first ever Unibet Open, and how excited he was about it. “I have emotion,” he explained.

Woefully, Mr. Mihail probably has some rather different “emotion” right now, as he’s down to just 8,000 or so. I didn’t see the whole of the hand that did the damage, but Marius called 3,000 on the river of the 6-8-Q-K-5 board and then mucked to his opponent’s set of sixes.
