Grabsi’s “Max” is Not Good Enough
Malek Grabsi raised from middle position and Jean Montury called, the player in the small blind came along as well. On the :::Js:::6s:::6c flop, Grabsi continued for 1,600 and was called only by Montury to see the :::4d on the turn. Both players checked and the {10s} fell on the river.
Grabsi cut out a bet worth 5,000 and snap-called the shove of Montury for 7,400, announcing "max" and flashing his {10c}{10d}. "Max?" Montury grinned and then turned over his :::6h:::6d for flopped quads. They exchanged some words in French and Montury then laughed "I was worried for a second that you had a straight flush."
