I got there just as the turn bets were being pulled in – the board read :::Th :::9d :::Kd :::5c and it looked as though Tomas Cibak had bet 1,500 and Flavien Guenan had called to his immediate left.
They saw a river – the :::8s – and this time Cibak bet out 4,000. Guenan tanked for some time, and eventually he made the call. Presumably Cibak had not been hoping for this outcome, as he could only boast :::Qd :::4d for a flopped gutshot and flush draw that never came in. Guenan revealed :::Ac :::Tc for a pair of tens and a very good call, and he was rewarded with a stack that now looks like almost 40,000. Cibak dropped to just 8,100, and he’s not even going to get a chance to win his chips back – the table broke next hand, and the players have been scattered around the room.
