More than 70 Unibet Poker players have already won their way into the €1,100 Unibet Open Malta Main Event which starts next month in the buzzing tourist resort of St Julian’s.
The Unibet Open Malta festival is taking place at the luxurious 5* Intercontinental Hotel from September 28 to October 2 – with the Main Event starting on September 29. This will be the tour’s fifth visit to the Mediterranean island and follows a record-breaking event held there in 2019.
At present, 73 players have already qualified online and around 20 more are expected to win the coveted €2,000 prize package by mid-September. The last package qualifier is on Unibet Poker on September 18 and the last seat-only qualifier is on September 27.
The €2k prize package includes the €1,100 Main Event buy-in, four nights’ accommodation at the luxurious five-star Intercontinental Hotel plus €250 towards travel expenses.
Feeder satellites start from as little as one cent with five packages guaranteed every Sunday in the €250 qualifiers. Two seats are guaranteed in the €50 seat-only qualifiers. Players can also buy in direct on Unibet Poker until 11pm (CEST) on September 21: the full package costs €1,750 or the seat-only option is €1,100.
All Unibet qualifiers will get a free dinner each night of the event, as well as must-have Unibet merchandise, the chance to mingle with Unibet Ambassadors and full access to the Welcome Drinks and Players Party.
The Unibet Open Malta Main Event features a €1,000 + €100 buy-in and there will be three start flights in total – Day 1a, Day 1b and a Day 1c turbo with 20-minute levels. All players receive a 30,000 starting stack and have a single re-entry option into Day 1c.
Other highlights include the #QUEENRULES Ladies Event and the first ever Unibet Chip Race Mystery Bounty event along with the €330 Unibet Opener, two NLH Progressive Superknockouts, a 36-cap €110 Flipout, a €220 PLO tourney and several super-satellites.
The final day will be action-packed with the Main Event playing down to a champion alongside Day 2 of the Mystery Bounty, a €120 Mini Main Event and the final NLH Progressive Superknockout. The Mini ME is a single re-entry tournament which will mirror the Main Event structure with all players receiving a generous 30,000 starting stack.
Nataly Sopacuaperu, Unibet Open’s Head of Events, added: “We are really thrilled by the interest that the poker community has shown for the Unibet Open. A ton of qualifiers have already won their trip to Malta and players still have another four weeks to win a package – we wish them lots of luck!”
The Intercontinental Hotel is Malta’s largest 5-star hotel and is located in the same property as the tournament so players will be just minutes away from all the action at Unibet Open as well as cash games at Casino Malta. The Intercontinental offers exceptional luxury including three swimming pools, a fantastic spa, a well-equipped fitness centre and private beach.
