Lindbaecks Down

Around 20,000 in chips had made its way into the pot by the time I got there on the river of the :::Qc :::5c :::8d :::6s :::Td board, and Florin Pandilica had gone all in for 11,175. Bjorn Lindbaeck thought about it for a little while and then made the call.

Pandilica: :::8c :::8s for a set
Lindbaeck: tried to muck, but the dealer turned his cards over for him – :::9h :::6h for just a pair of sixes.

Lindbaeck protested having his cards shown, but the dealer told him that that was the rule at showdown when a player was all in. “But only that player was all in,” piped up another player at the table, indicating Pandilica, clearly not quite grasping the notion of players having different sized stacks. Nevertheless, Pandilica was awarded the pot and is at 44,000, while Lindbaeck is at just 11,500.
