Lukas Doubles Through Cibicek

Michael Lukas in the small blind had a raise of 4,400 in front of him; Jozef Cibicek in the big blind had a raise to 10,200 in front of him. After a bit of dwelling up, Lukas just called and they saw a flop.

Flop: :::4s :::7s :::6d

Lukas tanked again and then checked. Over to Cibicek, who sat silent and expressionless. At least I think he did.

“Did you say all in?” Lukas suddenly asked. Cibicek remained still and said nothing.

“I heard him say all in,” said the gent to Cibicek’s left. The dealer and the other players at the table all murmured that they hadn’t heard anything. But perhaps we should all get our ears checked as moments later it was decided that Cibicek wasall in, Lukas called, and the cards were turned over.

Cibicek: :::Jd :::7h
Lukas: :::8s :::8h for much the better hand

Turn: :::Jh, putting Cibicek in the lead

River: :::8c putting Lukas back in front and winning him the hand.

Lukas doubled to around 70,000 – not a bad stack at this point in the tournament. Cibicek didn’t look happy at all, but on 35,000 now he’s not much below the average.
