Making a Mountain out of a Mol’s Hill

_DSC6638Jimmy Gillot opened to 3,600 from the cutoff and was called by Raymon Thijssen in the small blind and Jonas Mols in the big blind, the three saw a flop of :::9s:::9d:::6s which was checked the Gillot who bet 7,700.

Thijssen folded but Mols made it 18,100, Gillot pushed and Mols quickly called.

Gillot: :::Jc:::6c
Mols: :::Ts:::7s

It was the Frenchman’s vunerable two pair against the Belgian’s straight-flush draw with overcards, the latter being the favourite to hit. The :::Qs on the turn made Mols flush but he still had to avoid a nine or six to secure the pot on the river, the :::Tc came instead and Gillot was eliminated.

Mols is now the big chip leader with around 235,000.
