Some info about how Daniel Pastor got hold of that monstrous stack, straight from the horse’s mouth, albeit filtered through the translating medium of our Dutch friend in the press room.

It seems a lot of the stack came from an enormous bluff. There had been a raise to 7,000 which had been called by the player on the button before Pastor made it 16,700 from the small blind. The original raiser folded, the button called, and they went heads up to the flop.

The flop came down J-6-4 with two hearts on it and Pastor bet out 18,700. Mr. Button made it 52,000, but Pastor shoved. A fold from his opponent later, and Pastor showed A-Q offsuit. So there you go.
