After 12 levels of play, both Day 1b and Day 1c of the Unibet Poker Belgian Championship are both in the books. Day 1b attracted 285 entries in total and 81 of those players have made it through to Day 2. For Day 1c, 30 players out of 67 entries in total managed to find a bag to tag at the end of the day. The honors of taking the overnight chip leads are Jonas Van Baelen (1b) with 477,000 and Timur Caglan (1c) with 280,000 in chips.
Trailing behind Van Baelen after finishing Day 1b are Benoit Donche (468,000), Soner Guzel (399,000), Christophe De Meulder (396,000), and Tom De Boom (393,000). Trialing behind Caglan on Day 1c are Daniele Nestola (249,000), Jelle Jansen (195,000), Koen Lauwereys (194,000), and Vincent Verdickt (184,000).
After a bit of a hectic day but with the sun shining outside, the entries were streaming in and out of the tournament area. The ice cream that was handed out during one of the breaks, brought some fun relief to the players and seemed to be appreciated by all.
Unfortunately, not everyone managed to make it through to Day 2. Players like Charlotte van Brabander, Yves Sergeant, Fabrice Somers, Philippe De Schepper, Glenn De Cuyper, Dehlia de Jong, Ward De Bock, Mateusz Moolhuizen, Adrian Nica, Pieter Ram, Triffon Pappas, Karen Safaryan, Jean Marie Vanderborne, and many more fell at the many hurdles that were set up for them today.
Day 2 will feature 45 minutes levels again and play will continue until the final table has been reached. The seat draw is to follow!
