Things have gone from bad to disastrous for last season’s Leaderboard winner Tim Verbon.

Down to under 10,000 at the break, he wasted little time in getting the whole lot in. Diogo Almeida made the opening raise to 400 and Verbon flat-called on the button. In the small blind, Ramin Hajiyev, newly moved to the table, squeezed to 1,200. Almeida flat-called, but Verbon now shoved. Hajiyev called, Almeida folded, and they were on their backs.

And that was that for Verbon. Hajiyev is now flying high on around 40,000.
