A most curious hand, here. Witness:
The board read :::Kd :::Qc :::Kc :::9d when I got there and there was a mere 7,000 or so in the pot, but the bet in front of Kent Persheimer (big blind) was 8,000 and the raise in front of Artur Wasek (under the gun) was 19,000. From this, I deduced that there must have been some kind of raising war on the turn. The power of logic.
Persheimer tanked up for some minutes, and then attempted to call 14,000. He was corrected by the dealer, and had to put the additional 5,000 in, leaving himself just 13,875 behind. Wasek had a similar stack – with exactly 15,000 remaining, he only barely covered Persheimer.
They saw the river – the :::Ac. After a brief pause, Persheimer announced all in. Wasek asked for a count and tanked up long enough for the clock to be called, but he eventually folded, enigmatically showing the :::Ah. Very odd.
Wasek – 15,000
Persheimer – 60,000
