This looks like a decent turnout so far – we had well over 100 players here for the shuffle-up-and-deal, spread out across 15 tables, with the tournament director confident that numbers will swell during these first few levels and an even bigger field turning up tomorrow.
Among those who made it here on time are Unibet Open Riga champion Peter Harkes, currently sharing a table with Alex Rousso; another interesting table share is that of Unibet Open Malta champion Mateusz Moolhuizen and young Danish up-and-comer Nicolas Storm, who finished sixth back at Unibet Open Warsaw.
Also managing to make it out of bed in time for the 2pm start: Unibet Ambassador and possessor of an extraordinarily soothing voice (I’m sure we’ll hear him in the commentary box some time this week) Dan Glimne, as well as UO regular Alex Hendriks and the amazing Ilkka Heikkila, who will today be simultaneously playing and live-blogging this event.
